Non technical skills for health care workers: decision making, communication, teamwork, leadership and stress management.
Care requires not just skills but the health care provider using the skills. Healthy community action also depends on what the people themselves bring to the change, the focus here in this course is on the inner dimension of community change. These are not skills, in the same way that suturing a wound or managing an unit is a skill. The focus here is more on the “spirit” of the actor or change agent, the motivation to do good and to care.
The full series is four courses, each section teaching an very important soft skill:
I of the series is communication and respect for diversity
II decision making and ethical issues-
III Leadership incl. advocacy for access,
IV Stress management (care for the carers)
